"Dumbo" Towel Elephant Gift Set

This is the towel elephant I received from my Secret Sister. - Questo è l'elefante fatto con gli asciugamani che ho ricevuto.

I am really enjoying a Secret Sister swap I joined on the Craftsayings forum way back in January. This cute little towel elephant is one of the many gifts I received from my secret sister . I had never seen anything like this before and thought I would try and make one myself.
For my elephant I used one towel measuring 20 inches by 40 inches and 2 small facecloth towels measuring 12 inches square. Here below are the step by step pictures to follow.

Gennaio scorso mi ero iscritta ad uno swap organizzato dal Craftsayings forum. Tra i tanti regali che ho ricevuto dalla mia sorella segreta c'era questo simpaticissimo elefante fatto con degli asciugamani.

Non avevo mai visto uno prima e perciò ho pensato di provare a farne uno da sola.

Per il mio elefante ho usato un asciugamano 50 cm per 100 cm circa e due salviettine di circa 25 cm quadrati ciascuna.

Qui sotto ci sono le foto con le indicazioni passo per passo.

Towel measuring 20 inches by 40 inches and 2 small facecloth towels measuring 12 inches square - Un asciugamano che misura circa 50 cm per 100cm e due piccole salviettine che misurano circa 25 cm. quadrati ciascuna.

Roll the ends of the towel towards the centre - Arrotolate le due estrmità del asciugamano

Turn it as in the picture - Girare come nella foto

Fold one of the facecloth towels in half and fold the rolled towel over it as in the picture - Piegate una delle salviettine a metà e avvolgetela nel asciugamano arrotolato, come nella foto.

To make the trunk you'll need one facecloth towel and a wire chenille stem. - Per fare il proboscide serve una salviettina e un bastoncino di fil di ferro coperto di ciniglia.

Roll the facecloth towel with the chenille stem inside, this helps to give the trunk its shape, stitch to close. - Arrotolate la salviettina con il bastoncino di ciniglia al interno, cucite per chiudere.

Position the trunk as shown in the picture - Posizionate il proboscide come dimostrato nella foto

Now tie the lower part below the trunk with some ribbon and add some embellishment - A questo punto legate la parte inferiore sotto il proboscide con un nastro e aggiungete qualche decorazione a vostro piacere.

Here's the towel elephant, it makes a very cute gift. - Ecco l'elefante fatto con gli asciugamani, un regalo molto carino.
