Sawdust Clay, Heart Ornament - Cuore , Pasta Di Legno

Have you ever heard of sawdust clay?
I had never heard of it until I  found a recipe on a website.  I really don't remember what I was looking for when I came across this site but my curiosity took over and who knows me well knows that I had to try this straight away. It was easy for me to get the sawdust, I live close to a  Garden / pet shop and I knew they sold sawdust by the bagful so I was there in a dash and back home with a huge bag of sawdust. I only used a very small amount to make this ornament and have lots of it left over but, with a pet in the house, sawdust can always come in handy, and I might use it again for more ornaments in the future. If you're interested in trying it out you can find the recipe to make sawdust clay here:

I used a biscuit cutter for my heart ornament.
When left to harden, the ornaments result very, very hard and have a very rustic look.

  9. Too neat!! My BIL is a woodworker and always has sawdust. He is working with cedar wood right now. I wonder if it will still have the cedar smell when it's finished? It would make a cute item in a drawer to keep away moths. TFS!
