Here is an update on the Game  Score List , as  promised.

Felt Snowman Ornament

 I am still making felt ornaments for my Christmas tree, here is the latest one in the series... a snowman!

Sto ancora confezionando addobbi in feltro per il mio albero di Natale, ecco l'ultimissimo della serie... un pupazzo di neve!

It is totally hand sewn. I used a blanket stitch all around, I embroidered the eyes nose and mouth.  I used batting to fill the body so, if you make one ,  remember to leave a small opening at the base for the filling ...this will be sewn later after filling.

E' totalmente cucito a mano. Ho usato il punto festone tutto intorno, ho ricamato gli occhi, naso e bocca. Per  dare volume al corpo l'ho imbottito un po', perciò se volete confezionare uno uguale ricordate di lasciare uno spazio aperto alla base per l'imbottitura... questo spazio sarà cucito dopo.

Banoffee Pie

Felt Penguin Ornament --- Pinguino di Feltro

Hello!
I hope you are all enjoying a nice Sunday.

Today I am posting a tutorial on how to make 

this cute Penguin ornament for your Christmas tree.

You will need:

Printer

Printing paper

Black , white, red and yellow felt

Black and white embroidery thread (moulinè)

Glue ( preferably in stick form)

Gold coloured thread

Batting

Black and orange permanent markers.

Oggi vorrei condividere questo tutorial con voi.

E' un tutorial per un pinguino di feltro per l'albero di Natale.

Servono:

Stampante

Carta per stampante

Feltro  nero,  bianco, rosso e giallo

Filo da ricamo bianco e nero (moulinè)

Colla stick

Filo dorato

Immbottitura

Pennarelli indelebili, color arancione e nero

Seguono in basso le foto passo per passo per realizzarlo.

(1) Download the pattern and print.

    Next cut out the pattern pieces.

(1) Scaricare il modello e stampate.

Tagliate i pezzi del modello.

1.

Cut out 2 pieces for the body (front and back) from the black felt.  

Tagliate 2 pezzi per il corpo (davanti e dietro) dal feltro nero.

(2) Cut out the head and breast part (A in the pattern sheet) from the white felt and the beak from the yellow felt, 

glue the beak as shown in  picture 2.

(2) Tagliate la parte della testa e petto (Parte A nel modello) dal feltro bianco,

tagliate il becco dal feltro giallo e incollate come nell'immagine 2.

(3) Dab the back side of Part A  with the stick glue and place over one of

the two black body parts (front part) and press firmly.

(3) Mettete un po' di colla stick sul rovescio della parte A e incollatela 

ad uno dei due pezzi neri del corpo(il davanti).

(4)

(4) Sew Part A to the front piece using white embroidery thread in blanket stitch all around.

(4) Cucite, con un punto festone, la Parte A al davanti  usando del filo da ricamo bianco .

(5)

(5) Cut out the feet from the yellow felt and glue over the bottom inside part of the back piece.

(5) Tagliate i piedi dal feltro giallo e incollateli alla parte bassa (interna) del dietro.

(6) Place the front piece over the back piece and sew together all around in 

blanket stitch using black embroidery thread. 

Leave the bottom part ( Picture 6) open for the batting filling.

(6) Sovrapponete il davanti sul dietro e cucite insieme

con punto festone usando del filo da ricamo nero. 

Lasciate la parte inferiore aperta (immagine 6) per 

 l'immbottitura.

(7) Fill with some batting , do not put too much batting and close with blanket stitch.

(7) Immbottite  leggermente e chiudete con punto festone.

(8) Draw around the edge of the beak with an orange felt pen .

(8) Segnate il bordo del becco con un pennarello arancione .

(9) Do the same with the feet.

(9) Fate lo stesso per i piedi.

(10)

 (10) Draw the eyes .

(10) Dipingete gli occhi.

I added a red felt scarf to give it that Christmas touch 

and threaded the head with a golden coloured thread to hang it from.
The penguin is now ready for the Christmas tree.

Io ho aggiunto una sciarpa di feltro rosso per dargli quel tocco natalizio

e  un anello di filo dorato in cima alla testa  per appenderlo.
 Il pinguino è adesso pronto per essere appeso all'albero.

" JOY " Cube Christmas Ornament

Hello friends!
Here I am getting ready for Christmas, and you?
As most of you know I have always shared some printable or craft  for Christmas on my blog and lately I have been wracking my brain to come up with something nice to share with you now that the Holiday Season is getting close and this is what I came up with.
A" Joy "cube ornament.
It is very simple to make, all you need is:
white printing paper,
a pair of scissors,
glue and brush,
glitter, ( you can use glitter glue if you prefer)
wide eyed needle,
12 inches of narrow red ribbon, half a centimeter wide
4 red wooden  beads( with holes) .... this is an optional choice.

In the following step by step pictures below you can see how I made the ornament.

Ecco che ho iniziato a pensare al Natale, e voi?

Come molti di voi sanno, per Natale ho sempre condiviso qualche mia creazione sul blog e ultimamente mi sono cervellata  per creare qualcosa di carino da condividere con voi, visto che il Natale si avvicina . Ecco cosa ho creato. 
Un addobbo a cubo con scritta  JOY  (Gioia)

E 'molto semplice da fare, tutto ciò che vi serve è: 

della carta bianca per stampante
un paio di forbici, 

colla e pennello, 

glitter, (si può usare colla glitter se preferite) 

un ago per lana, 

30 cm  di  nastro rosso largo mezzo centimetro.
4 palline forate ( rosse) di legno ....  siete liberi a scegliere se usare le palline o no.

Nelle foto qui sotto potete vedere passo per passo come ho fatto l'addobbo.

Method:
You must first print and cut out the templates ( to download the free template click here).
With a needle, punch a hole in  the red dot on the blank sides of the cubes .
Fold the cubes in shape and glue the tabs in place.
Next spread some glue on the edges of the cube (Pics. 2 and 3), and dip the edges in the glitter (Pic. 4)
Do the same for all the sides of all 3 cubes.
Leave to dry.
Thread the wide eyed needle with the ribbon and with gentle pressure pass the ribbon through the previously punched hole in the "Y"  cube first, working  from the bottom towards the top...  follow with the "O" cube and finish with the "J" cube.
Take care not to put too much pressure on the paper cubes or you will ruin the shape, remember they are made of paper.  Finish off  with knotting a small loop at the top of the "J" cube. Arrange the distance between the cubes to your liking.
If you choose to have the cubes seperated by the wooden balls than all you have to do is thread the red ribbon through the beads before threading through the cube... in this case you must start with a wooden bead and then  proceed with the cubes.
Simple and easy ! I hope you like my little ornament.

Metodo:

È necessario prima stampare e ritagliare i cubi (per scaricare i modelli gratis cliccate qui).

Con un ago,  fate un buco nel punto rosso sui lati dei cubi ( lato senza lettera). 

Piegare e formare i cubi e incollate le linguette in posizione. 

Adesso spalmate un po 'di colla sui bordi del cubo (Fig. 2 e 3),  e immergere i bordi nel glitter (Fig. 4) 

Fare lo stesso per tutti i lati di tutte e 3  i cubi. 

Lasciate asciugare. 

Infilate l'ago con il nastro e con una leggera pressione passate il nastro attraverso il foro precedentemente perforato nel cubo "Y "prima, lavorando dal basso verso l'alto ... seguite con il cubo "O" e finite con il cubo "J". 

Fate attenzione a non mettere troppa pressione sui cubi  di carta o si rovinerà la forma, ricordate che sono fatti di carta. In fine annodate un piccolo anello alla sommità del cubo "J".  

Disporre la distanza tra i cubi a proprio piacimento. 
Se volete usare le palline per separare i cubi allora dovete iniziare con una pallina e poi procedere con i cubi, alternando cubo e pallina.

Semplice e facile! Spero che il mio piccolo addobbo vi piaccia.

The Toy Museum in Malta

 I suppose that visiting a museum while on holiday in a foreign country is something we've all done. Whether it's an Art or Archeological museum , we are all attracted by the history behind the collections exhibited in these beautiful palaces.
During my last visit to Malta I was fascinated by one particular Museum... the small TOY MUSEUM in Valletta.
This museum houses an impressive private collection of vintage toys from, trains, dolls, matchbox cars , teddy bears, model planes to tricycles and doll's houses.
It was opened by Vincent Brown in 1998 after his visit to a very similar museum in England and actually displays his personal collection accumulated over 30 years.
I discovered this museum thanks to my sister ... she told me about it and surprised me when she told me that Mr. Brown had bought her old vintage doll to add to his collection. Naturally I longed to see that doll again after so many years , we both played mum to that doll  in our childhood days even if it was really hers and not mine.
On the day before my departure back to Italy I had a last visit to Valletta and made a stop at the toy museum . My sister introduced me to Mr. Brown, a very nice gentleman who welcomed us and left us free to visit all three floors and to take pictures too. Our doll was not among the exhibts yet as she had to undergo some restoration but Mr. Brown was so nice to let me have a last look at her in a back room and to take a quick picture too.
This was a very nice way , nostalgic maybe, of ending my short holiday.

Here below are some of the pictures I took, the toys are mostly displayed in glass cabinets and this explains the glare in some of the pictures.

Suppongo che visitare un museo, mentre in vacanza in un paese straniero è qualcosa che abbiamo fatto tutti.  

Sia che si tratti di un museo d'arte o archeologico, siamo tutti attratti dalla storia dietro le collezioni esposte in questi bellissimi palazzi. 

Durante la mia ultima visita a Malta sono rimasta affascinata da un museo particolare ... il piccolo Museo del Giocattolo  a La Valletta. 

Il museo ospita una notevole collezione privata di giocattoli d'epoca da trenini, bambole, automobiline, orsacchiotti, aerei da modellismo a tricicli e  case delle bambole. 

E 'stato aperto da Vincent Brown nel 1998, dopo la sua visita ad un museo molto simile in Inghilterra e oggi mostra la sua collezione personale accumulata in oltre 30 anni. 

Ho scoperto questo museo, grazie a mia sorella ... lei me ne ha parlato e mi ha sorpreso quando mi ha detto che il signor Brown aveva comprato la sua vecchia bambola d'epoca da aggiungere alla sua collezione. Naturalmente avrei voluto vedere quella bambola di nuovo dopo tanti anni, entrambi abbiamo giocato a fare da mamma a quella bambola nella nostra infanzia, anche se la bambola era  sua e non mia. 

Il giorno prima della mia partenza per l' Italia ho fatto un' ultima visita a La Valletta per una sosta al museo del giocattolo. Mia sorella mi ha fatto conoscere il signor Brown, un signore molto gentile che ci ha accolti e ci ha lasciati liberi di visitare tutti e tre i piani  del museo e  liberi di scattare foto. La nostra bambola non era ancora in mostra  perchè doveva subire qualche restauro, ma lui era così gentile di farmi dare un ultimo sguardo a lei in un'altra stanza sul retro e le ho anche scattato una foto veloce.
Questo è stato un bel modo,  forse nostalgico,  di chiudere la mia breve vacanza .

Ecco alcune delle foto che ho scattato, i giocattoli sono per lo più  in vetrine e questo spiega il riflesso in alcune delle immagini.
