June , for me, is a month of Anniversaries. It was exactly 2 years ago in June 2008 that I started this blog ( the exact date was 8th June 2008 ). I have made so many new blog friends since and I am very grateful for the many followers that regularly visit and leave comments on my posts. Thank you very, very much for visiting over the past two years, I hope my blog has been a good companion to you just as yours have been to me along these years. I hope to celebrate many more blog anniversaries with you in the future.
Another important anniversary is my Wedding Anniversary. My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary on June 25th, so you see this is a special month for me... yes very special and to celebrate these two anniversaries I am having a Blog Candy Giveaway.

Giugno, per me, è un mese di anniversari. E 'stato esattamente 2 anni fa, nel giugno 2008 che ho iniziato questo blog (la data esatta era 8 giugno 2008). Ho fatto tanti nuovi amici bloggers d'allora e sono molto grata a quelli che  seguono il mio blog regolarmente  e che mi lasciano i loro commenti sui vari post. Vi ringrazio di cuore  per le tante visite nel corso degli ultimi due anni, spero che il mio blog è stato una buona compagnia per voi così come i vostri sono stati per me, durante questi anni. Spero di festeggiare ancora tanti anniversari con voi in futuro.Un altro anniversario importante è il mio anniversario di matrimonio. Mio marito ed io festeggeremo il nostro 30° anniversario di nozze il 25 giugno, adesso capirete perchè questo è un mese speciale per me ... sì molto speciale e per festeggiare questi  due anniversari insieme a voi dò via ad un Blog Candy Giveaway.

Weekend Shadows

It's shadow time once more and here's my picture for this weekend. This was taken in the country, I'm afraid it's not very clear but what I wanted from this was only the shadow effect on the wall and on the door.

Napkin Holder --- Porta Tovaglioli

I am convinced that many old things can have a new life or purpose even if their new life has nothing to do with the old one. I don't know if I'm making any sense right now but I hope you'll understand what I'm trying to say when you see my latest project. It is all about transforming an old thing into something new with a different purpose from it's original one.
We often throw things away without giving a second thought just because we think they are too old and useless ... that's what I was about to do with this old mesh simmer guard , it had lost its shine as well as the handle... ughhh ... ugly and old !
I don't know if anyone still uses these today but I had this for a very long time and only replaced it with a new one a few weeks ago. Now to get to the point... I was about to throw it into the waste bin when I got a flash and my mind started spinning and spinning and when this happens to me ... the result is nearly always... a new and pleasant project ... modestly speaking.

Sono convinta che molte cose vecchie possono rinascere a nuova vita , anche se la loro nuova vita non ha nulla a che fare con quella vecchia. Non so se il mio discorso fa senso in questo momento, ma spero che capirete quello che sto cercando di dire quando vedrete il mio ultimo progetto. Si tratta di trasformare una cosa vecchia in qualcosa di nuovo con una finalità diversa da quella originale. Spesso gettiamo via le cose senza pensarci due volte solo perché pensiamo che siano troppo vecchi e inutili ... questo è quello che stavo per fare con questo vecchio paraschizzi, aveva perso la sua originale lucentezza e anche la maniglia ... ughhh ... brutto e vecchio!
Non so se qualcuno le usa ancora oggi ma io l' ho avuto da tanto e l'ho sostituito con uno nuovo soltanto di recente. Ora per arrivare al punto ... Stavo per buttarlo nel cestino dei rifiuti quando si è accesa quella lampadina e la mia mente si è messa in moto e quando questo mi succede ... il risultato è quasi sempre ... un progetto nuovo e piacevole ... modestamente parlando.

She won the final by beating  australian Samantha Stosur by 6-4, 7-6 (2) and so becomes the first Italian player to win a title in the  Grand Slam after Nicola Pietrangeli in 1959 and 1960 and Adriano Panatta in 1976, also winners in Paris.

Weekend Shadows

It's shadow picture time again and here's this weekend's shadow pic. My sister took this picture of my  "tall" shadow. Shadows can be so decieving.... I wish I was that tall... LOL !  This is another picture taken during my short stay in Malta.
