A morning in Valletta - Una mattina a Valletta

The following pictures were taken during a morning spent in Malta's capital city, Valletta.
In the first picture you can see a part of the balcony that surrounds the walls of the  Grand Master's Palace in Valletta.
At the moment there are restoration works going on... in the second and third pictures you can see the part of the balcony that has already undergone restoration.
To enlarge the pictures just click on them.

In this picture you can see a closeup of the limestone (tufa) console  that supports the balcony.

This is the main entrance to the Palace.
 L'entrata principale al Palazzo.

Here is a closer look of the entrance which leads to a courtyard with a bronze statue of Neptune in its centre.

I couldn't help taking this picture of  one of the two guards on duty at the entrance.
A part of the arched walkway near the palace.

Detail of the ceiling.
Dettaglio del soffitto.

A street , close to the palace.
Una strada, sempre nelle vicinanze del palazzo.

After a good walk, I had to stop at Valletta's most famous café..

These are some pictures of the cafè.
Queste sono alcune foto scattate all'interno del cafè.

An espresso coffee in this beautiful cafe is a must.

Buona serata, Angela
