Mother of Thousands

I haven't been crafting these days because the hot weather has totally knocked me out, it seems all I want to do lately is sit infront of an electric fan or just sleep. I haven't much to post but I cannot bear to see my blog at a standstill. Having little to do I went through my archives and found one post which reminded me of a particular subject and so I decided to get back to the subject treated in that old post ... click here to understand what I'm talking about.
Now if you have read that old post just take a look at the plant as it is today after nearly a year...
(scroll down to see picture)

... nice change eh?
I still think of home when I look at it, and makes me sigh.
I made a thorough search and found out it is called Kalancheo Daigremontiana (botanical name). It is better known as - Mother of thousands or Devil's backbone.
I also found out the origins of this plant - Madagascar.
Unfortunately its only flaw ... it is very poisionious.
Here are a few links with information :

... bel cambiamento, vero?
- Mother of thousands o Devil's backbone.

Wow, Sue! Must be the perfect spot for this plant! I know what you mean about a little piece of home... I used to take pieces of my mom's plants, too! Blessings to you!

Wow! It has really grown! I remember when you first posted about it!

As far as the weather, we were blessed last week with fall like temps. Too bad, it's gone now! More hot July like weather on the way! I think it's the humidity I hate the most! You cannot even walk outside without getting sticky!

Oh this is so nice to read about sis...as you said Mum has so many of these on her terrace : )
I'm so glad you were able to grow a 'piece of home' to enjoy every day!
Hugs and Blessings,
Doreen

Doreen, I wish mum could see it, it's different from mum's only in colour, mum's plant is darker nearly brown but that's because it gets more sun I guess.
Mine is an emerald green.

@ Zen
I didn't know it was poisonous when I planted the seedlings ... I only found out it is, lately. Many of the plants we have in our homes are poisonous without our knowing.

The plant is beautiful and I like it very much. That is true about a lot of plants being poisonous and we don't know it. Just think of the lovely Poincettia. I think it's poisonous also. There is another that I grow but can't remember the name. In any case, we just have to be careful to wash our hands if we take cuttings, etc.
