Christmas picture collage !

I spent yesterday afternoon going around the house taking pictures to make a Christmas collage....
Ieri ho trascorso il pomeriggio girando per la casa scattando foto per fare un collage natalizio....

My daughter made the clay Nativity scene , we love a simple ( humble ) representation.
The red star in the centre of the collage is my handiwork as well as the angel ornie.
The wooden ornies come from Innsbruck, Austria.
The snowflake is last year's Christmas gift from my online friend Carmen.

Il presepe è un lavoro fatto in creta da mia figlia, amiamo avere una rapresentazione semplice (umile).
La stella rossa e anche l'angioletto sono opera mia.
Gli adobbi in legno arrivano da Innsbruck, Austria.
Il fiocco di neve era un regalo di Natale , dell' anno scorso, dalla mia amica Carmen.

We've been lucky to have had it up till Christmas Day!

Oggi è riuscito a buttare giu l'albero ma ero troppo arrabbiata per fare la foto del disastro.
Siamo stati abbastanza fortunati di averlo avuto in piedi fino al giorno di Natale!

Christmas - Door Decoration

This is the decoration I put on my front door this year, I wanted a change from the usual wreath so I decided to make something new and simple. The word is in Italian, "AUGURI ".. .this means BEST WISHES.
I had to make it in Italian since I live in Italy. I used red cotton fabric for the stuffed letters and brilliant green narrow ribbon for the edging.


Questa è la decorazione che ho messo sulla mia porta d'ingresso. Quest'anno ho voluto un cambiamento dalla solita corona e ho deciso di fare qualcosa di nuovo e semplice.
Ho usato tessuto di cotone rosso per le lettere imbottite e piccolo nastro verde brillante per il bordo.

A Christmas Tradition

Hallo! A great deal of steam!
The pudding was out of the copper. A smell like a washing-day!
That was the cloth.
A smell like an eating-house and a pastrycook's next door to each other,
with a laundress's next door to that!
That was the pudding!
In half a minute Mrs Cratchit entered-flushed, but smiling proudly-with the pudding, like a speckled cannon-ball, so hard and firm, blazing in half of half-a-quartern of ignited brandy, and bedight with Christmas holly stuck into the top.

Olà! questo sì che è fumo! Il bodino è fuori della casseruola.
Che odore di bucato! E' il tovagliolo che lo involge.

e della lavandaia che sta a uscio e bottega!
Questo poi era il bodino!
In meno di niente, ecco entrare la signora Cratchit, accesa in volto, ma ridente e orgoliosa col bodino in trionfo, simile a una palla di cannone chiazzata, liscia, compatta ardendo in un quarto di quartuccio d'acquavite in fiamme, e con in cima bene infisso l'agrifoglio di Natale.

I think this is the best introduction I could think of for today's post... yes, I would like to dedicate it to the most Wonderful of puddings - THE CHRISTMAS PUDDING.

In my family there's no Christmas without the Christmas Pudding, it is the only English tradition I keep carrying on since I can remember and even if I live in Italy and my husband's family is used to other Italian christmas cakes, like the Panettone and Pandoro, they all love my pudding.
This is a tradition which comes from the English side of my family and which I still keep and hope to carry on as long as I can.
When I was a child I remember how my mum would allow my sister, my brother and me to stir in our wishes for Christmas while she mixed the ingredients and now I have taken over this traditon. My daughter and son still love to stir in their secret wishes during the mixing and needless to say my husband and I do this too. Before serving this wonderful pudding, my dad would sprinkle the surface with brandy and light it up , this was the special final touch just as described in Dicken's " A Christmas Carol ".
Oh... how I still love the beautiful flame that rises from the pudding. It gives a particular glow if done with the lights turned down low. ( See the video at the foot of this post ).

Penso che questa sia la migliore introduzione per il post di oggi ... Sì, vorrei dedicarlo alla deliziosa Christmas Pudding.

Nella mia famiglia non c'è Natale senza questo dolce Inglese, è la sola tradizione inglese che porto ancora avanti e anche se vivo in Italia e la famiglia di mio marito è abituata al Panettone e il Pandoro, amano anche il Christmas Pudding che faccio ogni Natale.
Questa è una tradizione che arriva dal lato Inglese della mia famiglia e che porto avanti sperando di farlo finche posso.
Quando ero bambina mi ricordo che mia mamma permetteva a mia sorella, mio fratello e me a dare una mescolata mentre lei preparava questo dolce e fare così i nostri desideri e ora io continuo questa tradizione. Miei figli ancora oggi considerano questo come un rito e fanno i loro desideri mentre mescolano gli ingredienti insieme a me , e inutile dire che mio marito ed io facciamo lo stesso.
Ricordo come mio padre, prima di servire questo dolce, cospargeva la superficie con il brandy e poi lo accendeva, , questo era il tocco speciale finale così come descritto nel "Canto di Natale" di Dickens.
Oh ... Come amo ancora la bellissima fiamma blu che si alza dal pudding. Dà un effetto particolare se fatto con le luci soffuse. (Guarda il video ai piedi di questo post).

Christmas Sucker Cards.

I have often received requests for particular designs or templates for various special occasions but it is the first time that I got a request for a Sucker (lollipop) card. This request came from a Primary school teacher who wanted them for the up coming, school Christmas party , to give to her little students. I made two different ones for her to choose from.
I am posting them here too , maybe you'd like to use them yourselves for your children .
In the zipped file you will find three ( A4 size) sheets with 4 cards on each sheet, one sheet has 4 Snowman cards, one has 4 Santa's helper cards and the third one has two of each model.

Ho ricevuto spesso richieste per disegni o modelli particolari per varie occasioni speciali ma è la prima volta che mi viene richiesta una scheda/ supporto per lecca lecca (quelli di tipo caramella piatta). Questa richiesta mi è stata fatta da una insegnante di scuola elementare per regalare ai suoi piccoli alunni. Ho fatto due diverse schede, così potrà scegliere.
Le pubblico anche qui a chi puo interessare.
Nel file, in formato zip, troverete tre fogli formato A4 con 4 schede per ciascun foglio, in uno ci sono 4 con il pupazzo di neve, in un altro ci sono 4 schede con l'elfo e nel terzo ci sono due di ogni modello.

My Christmas Gift for you! Free Printable Perpetual Calendar.

I am sure we are all very busy getting ready for Christmas and it is normal to hear people say " Goodness only a few days left before Christmas , how quickly time flies! "
This reminds me that it's time for calendars too, so this is exactly the gift I have in mind for all my blog followers.
This year is nearly over and a new one is about to start, what better Christmas gift for you all other than ... A Perpetual Calendar?
I created this calander to use as a fridge magnet.


Please follow the step by step instructions :

You will need A4 size printing paper, small piece of magnet sheet or small magnet and a brass paper file fastener.
The files are in Zip format.

1. Download the calendar templates here for the ENGLISH version.
   
2. Print out on normal A4 size sheets.
3. Cut out the templates, cut the oval windows, fold the arm ( date window indicator) in half.
   
4. Assemble the calendar parts as follows ; insert the brass fastener first in the arm , next add the week days wheel (see Pic. A), under this wheel insert the months wheel and in the end the number wheel .
   
5. Sandwich the arm over the three wheels and pass the brass fastener through the other side of the arm and fasten. ( See Pic B.)
   
6. Attach/ glue the magnet on the back of the arm (see Pic. B)
   

Your perpetual calendar wheel is now ready!

I designed 8 different arms for you to choose from but you can use the blank pattern should you want to trace out the arm on black ( or other coloured) card stock. In this case all you have to do is cut out the pattern , place it on the card stock and trace around the arm's edge and the oval windows, next cut it out with a pair of scissors .
I hope you will enjoy using this little gift just as much as I enjoyed creating it!




Sono certa che siamo tutti molto impegnati nelle preparazioni Natalizie ed è normale sentire : "Restano solo pochi giorni prima di Natale, il tempo vola!"
Questo mi ricorda che è tempo di calendari , quindi questo è esattamente il dono che ho in mente per tutti i miei amici del blog.
Quest'anno è quasi finito e uno nuovo sta per iniziare, allora quale miglior regalo di Natale per voi ... Un calendario perpetuo!
Ho creato questo calendario calamita per frigo.
Seguite le istruzioni passo per passo:

Avrete bisogno di carta formato A4 , un piccolo pezzo di foglio calamita o piccola calamita e un fermacampione in ottone .
I file sono in formato Zip.

• 1. Scarica il calendario qui per la versione ITALIANA.
• 2. Stampa su fogli di formato normale A4.
• 3. Ritagliate i modelli, tagliare le finestre ovali, piegare il braccio (indicatore data) a metà.
• 4. Assemblare le parti del calendario come segue, inserire il fermacampione nel braccio, poi aggiungere la ruota dei giorni della settimana (vedi Immagine. A sopra), sotto questa ruota inserire la ruota dei mesi e alla fine la ruota dei numeri.
• 5. Chiudere il braccio sopra le 3 ruote e passare la chiusura (fermacampione) dall'altro lato del braccio e fissare. (Immagine B sopra)
• 6. Incollare la calamita sul retro del braccio ( immagine B).

La ruota, calendario perpetuo, è ora pronta!

Ho progettato 8 braccia diverse per voi da scegliere , ma è possibile utilizzare il modello in bianco se desiderate usare del cartoncino colorato. In questo caso tutto ciò che dovete fare è tagliare il modello, posizionarlo sul cartoncino e tracciare intorno al bordo del braccio e le finestre ovali, poi tagliate con le forbici.
Spero che questo piccolo dono vi piacerà, io mi sono divertita molto a crearlo!
