Elastic Bookmarker.

The idea of an elastic bookmarker is not mine , I got this idea from the craft blog ARTEMELZA exactly from this post:

I chose a simple subject for my bookmarker and it took me only a few minutes to make.
All you will need are :
28 cms of green elastic
A glass pebble
Some red fabric
Black and white embroidery thread
Some white nylon fabric
Glue

The pictures show the various stages. The numbered pictures correspond to these instructions.
1. Cut a circle (5cms in diameter) from the red fabric. Make a yoyo from the white nylon fabric by cutting a circle of fabric 16 cms in diameter ( You can find instructions for making yoyos here).
2. Cut 28 cms of green coiled elastic and tie the ends in a knot.
3. With some white thread divide the yoyo in six petals to obtain a flower and with your fingers give them shape.
4. Make small stitches all around the small red fabric circle.
5. Pull the thread to form a small pouch, insert the glass pebble , continue pulling the thread and close with more stitches.
6. Embroider the ladybird's head with black thread using satin stitch, then sew along its back with tiny back stitches and in the end make some french knots for spots and two white ones for the eyes. Glue the ladybird in the centre of the white flower. Once the ladybird is firmly glued on sew the flower to the elastic exactly where you had previously tied the knot.
Now you have a ladybird and flower elastic bookmarker.

Io ho scelto un soggetto semplice e ho messo poco tempo per farlo.

L'occorrente:

28 cm di elastico verde

Un sassolino di vetro

Della stoffa rossa

Filo da ricamo bianco e nero

Della stoffa bianca in nylon

Colla

Le foto sopra mostrano i vari passi per fare questo segnalibro. Le foto numerate corrispondono a queste indicazioni:

1. Tagliate un dischetto, 5cm in diametro, dalla stoffa rossa. Fate uno yoyo dalla stoffa bianca tagliando un cerchio di 16 cm ( per istruzioni come fare uno yoyo di tessuto vedete qui)

2. Tagliate 28 cm di elastico verde e annodate le estremità

3. Con del filo bianco dividete lo yoyo in sei petali. Aiutatevi con le dita per dare la forma.

4. Cucite piccoli punti attorno il dischetto rosso.

5.Tirate il filo per dare la forma di un sacchettino, infilate il sassolino di vetro all' interno, continuate a tirare il filo, chiudete con piccoli punti.

6. Ricamate la testa della coccinella con del filo nero e a punto raso. Cucite piccoli punti dritti lungo la schiena. Infine fate delle piccole palline ( tipo nodo francese) sulla schiena con il filo nero e altre due con filo bianco per gli occhi. Incollate la coccinella sul fiore bianco e quando risulta ben incollata cucite il fiore all' elastico nel punto dove avete fatto il nodo.
