A Waltz in Heaven --- Un Valzer in Paradiso

Hello dear followers, it's not easy coming back to my blog to post again without mentioning the recent passing of my mamà (this is how we called our mum). I don't usually post much about my family on my blog but this is something I feel I owe to my mama.
I wanted to go home to Malta to be with her as soon as I got news of her illness. I wanted to help my sister and brother take care of her and I wish I had gone earlier to be with mamà one last time but unfortunately I got down with a bad cold and so I postponed the trip to make sure she would not get it from me since her illness had weakened her immune defences . The doctors never spoke of imminent death so I was hopeful and thought I would have had time to go later, but God had other plans.

Unfortunately, things precipitated and in less than a week she got worse and I never made it in time to see her alive again. I cannot forgive myself for not having been there when she passed away, I arrived too late...I could not give her that last kiss and hug, the same thing had happened when my dad passed away 16 years ago, I wasn't there to give him my last goodbye.
Tears come to my eyes as I write this, please forgive me dear friends but I need to vent my emotions and this blog post might help me in some way.

To make this short ... I was there for the funeral and stayed over at my sister's house for a week, we tried to comfort each other as best we could. I know for sure that mamà is in a much better place, she is no longer in pain and I want to imagine her and dad together. She and dad left us with so many beautiful memories, we have had a very happy childhood and they gave us a very good upbringing. They were both very fond of ballroom dancing and that's exactly how I'd like to imagine them ... hand in hand, high above in the midst of the clouds and happily dancing a waltz together.
This thought, for the moment, will be my consolation.

Sue.

Dearest sis, I read your beautiful post with tears in my eyes know what you have been through, what we all have been through. I admire you for getting on your blog again...as for me so far I can't bring myself to get back on mine, maybe I'm too busy too but I know I will one day, hopefully soon. I too love to imagine Mama and Papa dancing in each other's arms in heaven : )
Thanks for the memories.

Doreen, I know you will get back to blogging . This is a very busy time for you, I know that taking care of mum's things keeps you very busy right now but in a couple of months you'll return to your posts, I'm sure. Keeping busy helps you to keep your mind occupied on other things, I am trying hard to keep myself occupied too.
I am happy you found time to get back to visiting my blog.
Take care,
Hugs,
Sue.

I hope you can feel the hug around you and the love for you and your family. Your Mama is so proud of you all, I know! Love and blessings to you, my friend!
