Save those seeds!

We often fall for a plant, in our friend's garden, which can't be found in our local nursery. In this case one can take a cutting, or divide the roots, but if you collect the seeds you will have many more potential plants.
To collect the seeds from the type of plant you choose you must not cut the heads off when the flowers fade... don't collect the seed heads till they are ripe and really bursting. Then lay them on a tray and keep in a dry warm place till the seeds fall naturally from the heads. When they are completely dry they can be put in packets.
Of course you can just bury them in an ordinary envelope with the date and name on it but a pretty colourful seed packet with patterns on it can be more satisfying. These make lovely and much appreciated presents too. Here are a few seed packets I made and which you can download here in a zip file.

in zip file.
