Easter Chick Ornament --- Pulcino Pasquale

Here's the finished work I had in progress ... Easter chick ornaments.
I guess I am a little late with this craft but I was so carried away with the games lately that I didn't realise I had little time left to make these. They were very easy to make so I am still in time to have them as a table decoration for Easter.

To make one of these chicks you will need:
Yellow yarn for the  pom poms
A clean empty eggshell ( broken  at the top of the egg)
Yellow and orange felt ( for wings, beak and comb)
2 tiny black beads for eyes
Glue, scissors and pinking shears.
Important : ALWAYS wash egg shells carefully and leave to dry before making any craft with them.

I started out by making the pom poms for the chicks' heads , they turned out rather big so I had to trim around till I got the right size. I used the bigger ones, which I flattened down, for the base.
I cut out 2 tiny triangles  from the yellow felt for the chick's wings and glued them on the sides of the eggshell, next I glued the larger pom pom at the base of the eggshell.
I cut out the beak  from some orange felt and with pinking shears trimmed a very tiny piece of orange felt for the comb.
I glued these on the tiny pom pom and next glued on the beads for the eyes.
Finally I glued the tiny pom pom on the broken edge of the eggshell which I had previously dabbed with glue.
When gluing the parts , allow a few minutes for the glued parts to set before proceeding with the other parts to glue on.
Remember to handle the eggshell delicately to avoid cracking it.

They are very easy to make and I think the kids will love them.

Colla , forbici normali e forbici sagomate

These are so cute. I love working with real eggs as opposed to the foam or plastic ones.
